Today, the first day of Autumn : )

I  feel it creeping up in My excitement, the change of Season.Even as a child I loved each change but Fall was and has always been My favorite. Cooling air, falling leaves in the breeze.Us kids still playing outside till dinner. The excitement of school starting brought the fun of seeing friends again not living on My street and wondering who would be in My class. Buying new cloths with Mom and My older Sister at JC Penneys while trying to decide on the latest fashions. My parents being involved in the harvest festival. One Year they made a huge haunted house that everyone in school loved and I was so proud.I though loved the cake walk and the goldfish ball toss much more. Chilli  cheese and crackers, warm casseroles and cream soups.I miss My Mom as I remember back to when She was a young Woman.I tried to duplicate each of these memories when I became a young Mother.I thought I was doing a good job when I was young but times have changed so much now I don't know if my girls really feel the same love through blessed memories. I know how busy they all are in making their own memories. It seems to Me they don't carry those memories I hold so precious while they were growing up.I suppose the older You get and as Your life quiets down Your memories do become more precious.Oh My dear memories of growing up in the 50s and 60s  : ) Right now while welcoming Fall I could just go on and on  about Our family in days of long ago. Eeks ! I sound like an old Women and that's just life and how it works. I know, but it's actually happening to Me now. I was and am still blessed : ) I would love to hear about Your sweet memories of Autumn when You were growing up.
So to celebrate the first day of Fall, I decorated, arranging and rearranging after Maddie went home.

I love My new white Fall teapot from Home Goods and the lenox owl also from Home Goods. In fact, I did much more shopping at Home Goods for Fall decor. this Year because I'm having company next weekend and I wanted to spruce up My old stash.

Oops tie is still on the lid.

I have more Fall teapots than I remembered, but even though I'm not hosting a dinner, I just felt like hauling it all out of storage.

Well that is a small tour of My set-up until after Thanksgiving. I am Thankful for so much. One little thing I've been working on for several Years is.... how to be at ease in My spirit with Holidays now that My daughters are older.Autumn blessings to all who visit and may Your spirit be at ease during Holidays. Denise

You have some very nice autumn decorations and I can tell you that my daughter would love your owls - she is very into them. It takes a while to get things in the right place when arranging stuff, but yours all looks great.

Oh, how I love fall! We are finally having cool, rainy weather (hallelujah!) and I have gotten out my sweatshirts (fun!). It's time for coziness...

Hi Denise! I loved your post. Autumn is my fave season, too. Growing up, loved all the things you mentioned in your post....starting school, the leaves changing color, crunching them underfoot, etc.

We DO have a lot in common. At one time, something happened with Blogger and I lost a lot of the blogs I follow on my sidebar. I've got to figure out how to add them again. Thanks for the reminder!

Hope your weekend is super and thanks for the visits! Susan

Oh Denise, your post hit home for me in so many ways. Going around the neighborhood and wondering what kids were going to be in your class that year, shopping at JC Penneys, oh how I remember that. I only got a few school clothes, but it was so much fun for me. And me and my brother made haunted houses for the neighborhood kids too! You are like a kindred spirit when I read all of this stuff you did in your childhood, and I was wondering the same thing....if my girls hold these childhood memories precious like I do. I love your velvet pumpkins, the white tea pot, and that little fox, and Home Goods is one of my favorite places to shop!

This is such a delightful post, and I enjoyed it all. I may even come back and see it again.

love, ~Sheri

Dear Denise,
First I would like to thank you so much for visiting and leaving such a sweet note.
What a wonderful post.. I grew up in the same era, Denise... It was such a quite time.. Slow and easy. No one had to lock the doors, entertainment was simple, but very enjoyable... Children actually went outside to play.. I know I did... The autumn was always a great time to enjoy the outdoors.

blessings,
Penny

Hi Dear Denise, so wonderful to see you today and thank you for stopping by and your kind comment. You always bless my heart with your uplifting and encouraging words.
Love your home for fall and the special accents and treasure you have decorated with. Your guests will enjoy their stay with you and your festive home.
I too have special memories I hold dear from growing up and fall days. It was always a wonderful time made perfect by my mother. I too remember going shopping with my mom and getting ready for school with a few new outfits and supplies. It feels like yesterday sometime when I think back. Oh how I miss my mother. Thank you for sharing such a beautiful and heartfelt post with a walk down memory lane.
Wishing you a happy fall season filled with blessings.
Love to you, cm

Hi Denise, your fall decorations are so lovely. I've not been in the mood much for decorating, but the weather has been so cool in the mornings here that I'm finding myself "feeling the mood" coming around. I bought a few little pumpkins and set them out. I'm sorry it's been so long since I paid you a visit. I think of you often. Blessings dear friend ♡♡♡

One of my favourite songs that makes me realise God’s always around. — Dancing with God, Verse 1: You dance over me While I am unaware, You sing all around But I never hear the sound, Chorus: Lord, I’m amazed by You Lord, I’m amazed by You Lord, I’m amazed by You How You love me Verse 2: You paint the moring sky With miracles in mind, My hope will always stand, For You hold me in Your hand.
