Denise, both sides on my dad's family where Germans living in Russia. They came to America in 1900 and 1901. They did keep their German customs and language while in Russia, but I have seen one passport in Russian. Such an interesting history.

PS...loved your cruise post
I love Russian things...took Russian in high school & college and spent 4 weeks touring Russia (CCCP) in 1967. How fun that you have a connection!

Denise, how fortunate your are to have a family photo like this! Perhaps if you add a translator to your blog, you will get those comments? Hugs,
Hi Denise. What a lovely post for your Russian readers. I don't think anyone from Russia has ever visited my blog! Lovely photos.
I get a lot of readers from Russia, too, but they never post either! I'm very drawn to some Russian things; the traditional dachas, the onion domes, the fairy tales.... I was very lucky to visit St. Petersburg in 1997 - one of the most beautiful cities I've ever seen! I love the photos, just beautiful!
Blessings, Victoria
Too. Funny, Denise! Have a lovely weekend. E
Hello,Denise
I was staring at the old group picture of the Armenians, before I read any of your writing and thinking to myself that looks so Armenian... hehe
I was born in Erevan but have been here since 1980.
Love all the old pictures.
Thank you for posting this :)
Wishing you a blessed week ahead, Angela
