Train through Paris and memories

Today I took a train trip through Paris with a best friend. We're having a fantastic time.Staying in a cottage out of town where it's quiet, meeting all the locals.I know none  of the language so we are having fun with sign language and our dictionary.

It's so peaceful out here. The locals are bringing us gifts of wine, cheese and bread. Some very handsome men keep dropping by our little cottage offering to show us the town.

If I wasn't married I would take them up on the offer.Oh, the romance of it all! This is My favorite window in our cottage with a view of the countryside.

This was our favorite cafe, the chocolate coffee and truffles were to dream for.

I owe this trip to My friend Anita.I had forgotten completely about France and Paris until I met her. With My busy life of raising four daughters, working as a R.N. at times, nesting as a full time homemaker most of the time.France was far from My  thoughts. As a girl though in the 50s I had many romantic visions of France and Paris,I suppose from T.V.

Of her for one,I thought this was maybe Me when I grew up....

or her.....

Cocktails and cigarettes in Paris, how glamorous in the 50s from the eyes of a little girl.

Oh to fall in love in Paris ,I knew for sure this would be me.Maybe I would have My first job or go to college in Paris.

Thank you Anita for this train ride and bringing the dreams back to me.

Wasn't this us as We watched these movies?

Maybe Beatniks?

Now I read and watch these movies. What a wonderful escape for us girls. The beauty of it all.
Thank you Anita. To join her party, her blog is on My sidebar.Take the trip of a life time ,I just did      :)

Denise,
What a wonderful, enchanting post this is. The black and white photos are filled with mystery and beauty. I love black and whites. Isn't this a fun idea that our dear Anita thought of? You always have the coolest pictures. I am now off to visit more lovelies in Paris. I've never been there myself - but we can dream, can't we?

What fun, Denise! I have always wanted to go to Paris. My son was there last summer and he's going to Provence at the end of June. I'm jealous! No, I'm really happy for him. My kids are getting to do things I only dreamed about.
I was just stopping by to thank you for your nice comment about my magazine feature. I appreciate it and you! Hope you're having a lovely weekend.

Blessings,
Sandi

Yes, we were all introduced to Paris through Tv and movies weren't we and although not nearly as tall and willowly as they were, I felt just as romantic there as it is pictured in the media. Yes, it appeals to the girly girl in all of us and to the romantic in all of us - take me back!

Thank you for stopping by, Denise. Your kind comments are always so welcomed in our little "shop."
I apologize for not coming over for a visit sooner, but when I used to click on your name, I only got a google page cover. I was so happy to see a blog now, and I am still mingling with Anita's Parisian party guests, so needless to say, took me a bit to get here.

Love everything you share here. Fun, fun, fun and so much beauty. Love those shoes.
Thank you for sharing.
Have a beautiful day.

Bonjour Denise!
How lovely to take a train ride ride with you through Paris! And how I can relate to those photos you share with us!!! Yes! I had the same images implanted in my mind [ along with "An American in Paris" and I think I always knew I was 'French at Heart"!! And I told everyone I was French from the age of 5 on!!!
I love French Country Cottages, by the way, and my husband and I are looking at some to buy when we go back to Paris in less than a month!!
It is sweet to meet a sister in the Lord, especially in Paree!!! I will follow you now, chérie!
Blessing and Amitiés!

One of my favourite songs that makes me realise God’s always around. — Dancing with God, Verse 1: You dance over me While I am unaware, You sing all around But I never hear the sound, Chorus: Lord, I’m amazed by You Lord, I’m amazed by You Lord, I’m amazed by You How You love me Verse 2: You paint the moring sky With miracles in mind, My hope will always stand, For You hold me in Your hand.
