Zentangle Crazy

My latest artistic passion is drawing Zentangles. They are addictive in a good way. Although I always avoid anything with the word Zen in it because I am a devoted Christian. I found nothing I disapprove of in Zentangles except for the word Zen. I haven't taken any photos of my drawings yet. These two above drawings are from one of the Authors on the web page Zentangle.com--I just need to find a new name for them that would be more pleasing to Christ and myself, any ideas?

Interesting. It's interesting how humans give power to words. Zen brings a balanced feeling to my mind..just as the word Peace does. I connect it with "enlightenment" and so it does not offend me. I am a Christain as I follow the teaching of Christ. But...I also follow all things bright and beautiful..
I must think of following your blog..as your opening words are lovely..until you seem to doubt.

You sound like a lovely and loving person. It's nice to meet you!

Personally...and this is just me..but I happen to think that YOU please Christ. And for me that is all that is needed. God gave us our precious mind and heart to make our own decisions and to love as he loves.
Please do not become like me with your blog and try to please all of the people all of the time. It will never happen. I found that early in my blogging efforts.

I am choosing to follow your blog, dear friend, because of your last comment on my post. NOT at all offended...gracious..creative and more than anything else..you are kind and caring. That is what came across to me.
I love you for that.
Please do keep the name of your creations and attract those that care and are open minded AND if they chose to follow the teached of Christ, then that is nice also.
Bless you..
Mona

I believe Zen says it all...and our great God, I am sure, in all his wisdom, would agree.
Hugs.

I'm also a devoted Christian and understand your hesitancy about using the word, "zen"; however, I don't think it's offensive to your beliefs to create these. I guess I just think of zen as peace and tranquility. It's like how the word Gay is used now to describe someone's sexuality rather than being happy. I suppose what's important is how it affects you personally.

I also enjoy yoga and have no problem practicing this form of relaxation of the mind, body, and spirit. I meditate and give the glory to God. To me, it's a form of prayer and I'm taking care of the Holy Temple!

So, to answer your question, I can't think of another name for this artform. Whatever you want to call it will be just fine I'm sure.

One of my favourite songs that makes me realise God’s always around. — Dancing with God, Verse 1: You dance over me While I am unaware, You sing all around But I never hear the sound, Chorus: Lord, I’m amazed by You Lord, I’m amazed by You Lord, I’m amazed by You How You love me Verse 2: You paint the moring sky With miracles in mind, My hope will always stand, For You hold me in Your hand.
