After 33 years of gathering dark cherry furniture that I still love, now all this white  shabby chic furniture is so tempting me.What do I do?My husband and I are both at the ages that we physically can't revamp our furniture and were retired and can't buy  new or old wooden pieces. So my answer has been to work around the furniture-my own mixture of style,It's pleased me for many years.I don't know anyway how my hubby would feel about living in a pink home.He already puts up with all the lavender, never says a word.

one of my favorite verses

John4:14 But whoever drinks of the water that I shall give him will never thirst. But the water that I shall give him will become in him a fountain of water springing up into everlasting life.

New swag I made last week. I put it over the photos of all 8 Grandchildren.May My Lord cover them with His protection.I think I'll put one of my Mod Podge hearts I made long ago to hang in the center.I have to go find them right NOW.You know how that feels.

Happy Halloween,not really

Actually these were apart of a beautiful centerpiece at a wedding yesterday.Nothing to do with  Halloween.By themselves though I thought they were perfect to wish you all a fun  and safe Halloween.

fuzzy photo but it says:Paragon
I have loved this one because of the color comb. When I saw it I thought that it was too pretty, it would be too expensive or damaged but it was perfect and the right price. You should have seen how  fast I grabed it.I was just giddy

My rescues

How come nobody wanted these poor old beauties but me.Some people rescue dogs or cats.I cant help it, I rescue china , pottery and colored glass.Oh how I love the search. The teapot is an Arthur Wood. The cups and saucers are :  the white one on the left is Grosvenor,Jackson&Grosling. The cream colored one is Elizabethan Staff. Some little ol lady tried to repair it ,poor thing. I picked it up for free and have had it just as is for 30 years.Flowers cover the repair.Tablecloth was one of my grannies from 50s or40s

Grandma Ketzels china

My German/Irish Grandmas kitchen was just as charming and inviting as my Italian Grandmas  that I spoke of last week. The only differance was the type of food.Grandma Ketzels kitchen bore tons of potatoes, corn ,peas, and roast and last but not least butter.Oh yum.I miss you Grandma. Her dishes have been mine a long while. You might recognize them,"York Empire" they were very popular in the 40s.Good thing I have 4 daughters to split all my china.More to come. This blog is also a good place to explain to my daughters what I have and where the sets came from.Who knows though this generation just might not like it .boohoo

It's Fall!

These are not old but I thought it went well for Fall.

Grandma Gulino's china

My Ridgway-Woodland set is huge.It spent it's best years in my Grandma's warm and fragrant Italian kitchen.
One of my favourite songs that makes me realise God’s always around. — Dancing with God, Verse 1: You dance over me While I am unaware, You sing all around But I never hear the sound, Chorus: Lord, I’m amazed by You Lord, I’m amazed by You Lord, I’m amazed by You How You love me Verse 2: You paint the moring sky With miracles in mind, My hope will always stand, For You hold me in Your hand.
